What a roofing company website should cost
The three ways roofers pay for a website, what each one really costs over two years, and what you should get for the money.
Roofers get quoted everything from free to fifteen thousand dollars for a website. Most of those quotes are for the same thing. Here's how to read them.
The three ways to pay
Do it yourself. A website builder runs twenty to fifty dollars a month. The real cost is your weekends, and then every weekend after that when something needs changing. Most roofers who go this route have a site that hasn't been touched since the year they built it.
Pay an agency up front. Three to eight thousand dollars for a build, then hourly invoices for updates, then a second build in three years when the first one looks old. Over two years, a five thousand dollar site with light maintenance runs seven to nine thousand.
Subscribe. A flat monthly fee that covers the build, hosting, updates, and support. No big check up front. Over two years, that's the monthly price times twenty-four, and the site is never out of date because someone's job is keeping it current.
What you should get regardless
Whichever way you pay, a roofing website needs the same things, and you should ask about each one before you sign anything:
- A page for every service: replacement, repair, storm damage, inspections, gutters, metal if you do it. Each one is a separate search.
- An insurance claims page. It's the first question a storm-damage customer asks, and it separates you from out-of-town storm chasers.
- Your phone number on top of every page, one tap on a phone.
- Your Google reviews and real photos of roofs you've done in the area.
- Loads in under two seconds on a phone. Slow sites lose half their visitors before the page appears.
- Someone to call when it breaks or needs a change. A site nobody maintains is a site that stops working.
The question that matters
Don't ask what a website costs. Ask what one more roof replacement is worth to you, then ask whether the site in front of you is built to get it. A cheap site that doesn't ring the phone is the most expensive kind.
We build roofing websites on a flat monthly plan, and we'll design your homepage for free so you can see the difference before you pay anything.
