How to get more plumbing jobs from Google
Where plumbing leads actually come from on Google, and the four things a plumbing company can fix this month to get more of them.
When a homeowner has water on the floor, they don't ask a neighbor. They pull out their phone and type "plumber near me." What Google shows them in the next three seconds decides who gets the job.
Here's where those jobs come from, and what a plumbing company can do about it.
The map is where the calls are
Most plumbing searches show a map with three businesses before any website. That's the Google Business Profile, and it's free. If yours isn't claimed, filled out, and reviewed, you're not in the running for the fastest, highest-intent calls there are.
Claim it. Add every service. Put up ten real photos. Ask every happy customer for a review and reply to every one. Make sure the phone number and address match your website exactly. That last part matters more than it sounds.
One page per service
Google doesn't rank the word "plumber." It ranks "water heater replacement" plus your town, "drain cleaning" plus your town, "sewer line repair" plus your town. A site with one Services page and a bulleted list can't rank for any of those. A site with a page for each one can.
Write each page like you'd explain the job to a customer: what's usually wrong, what you do about it, what it tends to cost, how fast you can get there.
The phone number goes on top
Half your visitors are standing in the problem. They don't scroll. If the number isn't in the top corner of every page, tappable on a phone, they leave and call the next result.
Reviews on the site, not just on Google
A homeowner about to let a stranger into their house is nervous. Your Google reviews on your own pages, with names and towns, settle that in ten seconds. Nobody is going to leave your site to go check.
What this looks like in practice
A plumbing company that does these four things usually sees the map listing move first, within a few weeks, because Google trusts a complete profile linked to a real site. The service pages take longer, two to four months, and then they keep paying. That's the difference between renting leads and owning them.
